Chris Rettstatt

Chris is Co-Founder and CEO of KidFu, which provides safe online community products and services for children. He also:

• performs online safety and privacy consulting (example: BackYardJungle.org, a children's web site funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting)
• performs online community consulting (example: Fox Kids Online)
• develops "youth and technology" curriculum for teachers, university students and non-profit youth workers
• writes "family computing" articles and product reviews (example: Chicago Parent Magazine)
• speaks at conferences and other events on the subject of children's online safety (example: Online Community Summit in Sonoma, California).

Chris was formerly Director of Community for FreeZone.com, a safe online community for over 800,000 children and teens from around the world. At FreeZone he managed safe online community projects for clients ranging from Nintendo to Sears to the American Cancer Society. And no matter how busy he became, he always made time to do his weekly poetry chat with the children.
In addition to being an advocate for children's online safety, Chris is also involved in numerous nonprofit organisations providing services for Chicago-area youth and youth workers. Before joining FreeZone, Chris taught English and technology skills to children in China. In his free time he writes fiction.
