Lizzie trained in drama and dance, becoming a trainee literary
and theatrical agent in 1980. She joined BBC Radio in 1982 becoming
a senior studio manager in charge of Radio 4 technically for long
periods, and working on live and recorded programmes, including
complex drama series. Lizzie started her own independent radio
production company in 1992 producing BBC programmes, 80% of which
were critics 'Choice of the Day'.
In 1997 the BBC poached Lizzie back again to work on BBC Online,
where she built up the BBC Community from scratch. She is now
managing the BBCi Interactive Presenter Scheme and consulting
on a pan-BBC campaign teaching online safety. Finally, Lizzie
is also doing doctoral research for BBCi and the University of
Westminster on 'The Craft and Role of the Interactive Presenter
on BBCi'
