For ten years, Juha Nieminen has been actively working with issues covering open and distance learning, concentrating especially on applications of new technology in open learning and distance learning. His knowledge of telematic applications and networks is both practical and theoretical (with both a designer's and innovator's perspective). Recently he has been concentrating on consulting in projects developing network/virtual communities for associations and companies.
Juha Nieminen has also published many articles and interviews
on virtual communities. Along with his main work activities at
the Teamware office in Helsinki he has been working with many
European projects under Telematics, Value, ADAPT, Socrates funding.
As part of this he has been working as a lecturer and workshop
leader at many international and national conferences.
