
The 2008 Everett Brenner Prize for the best paper at the Search Engine Meeting in Boston (April 2008) was awarded to:
Charles Clarke, University of Waterloo, Canada for his paper: "XML Retrieval: Problems and Potential"
Second prize went to:
Richard Brath, Oculus, Canada for his paper "Search, Sense-Making and Visual User Interfaces"
The prizes were donated and presented by Stephen E. Arnold of AIT, who presented the plaques (below) as well as a cheque for $500 as the first prize.
