Pete Cipollone

Pete Cipollone directs the strategic development of Factiva's text mining and visualization initiatives. He is responsible for building the Factiva Insight line of products, which will initially focus on meeting the information needs of brand and reputation managers, and public relations and corporate communications professionals. Prior to this role, Mr Cipollone was Assistant Director, Integration Products, working on channel marketing relationships and integration architecture. He was instrumental in developing Factiva iWorks and the patent-pending algorithm, Factiva iWorker Search Technology.

Mr Cipollone joined Dow Jones Interactive in 1997 as an intern in Marketing and then quickly moved to Technology, where he became a software development manager working on the software that ultimately became Factiva Publisher. In 2000, he moved to user interface development and devised the technical internationalization strategy to provide Factiva.com in nine language interfaces. He is a four-time world rowing champion, a member of the 1996 and 2000 US Olympic Teams and won a gold medal in the 2004 Olympics in Athens. He has a Bachelor of Arts in economics with an emphasis on quantitative techniques from the University of California-Berkeley.
