Pick Vossen is Chief Technical Officer at Irion Technologies, where he develops multilingual language technology and applications for many different languages. For more than ten years Dr Vossen worked on computational lexicons and multilingual semantic networks at the University of Amsterdam, as part of the EC-projects Acquilex and Sift. More recently, he co-ordinated the EuroWordNet project, which resulted in a large-scale multilingual database with semantic networks in eight European languages. He is also the founder and chairman of the Global Wordnet Association that supports the development and linking of wordnets for all languages in the world. Dr Vossen has also worked as Senior Researcher at Sail Labs, Antwerp Belgium.
