Ethan Munson received his first bachelors degree in psychology
from the University of California, San Diego in 1978. After several
years working as a psychiatric research technician and statistician,
he returned to UCSD to complete a second bachelors degree in computer
science (1986). He received an MS (1989) and a PhD (1994) in computer
science from the University of California, Berkeley and joined
the computer science faculty of the University of Wisconsin -
Milwaukee in 1994. Ethan Munson chairs the steering committee
for the ACM Symposium on Document Engineering. He performs research
on systems for software documents, on web image search, and on
human-computer interaction. His research has been funded by the
US National Science Foundation and the US Department of Defence.
