Neil Margolis received his PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1991 and worked as a molecular biologist from 1991-97. Neil's growing interest in scientific information retrieval and usage led him to the information management group at Wyeth-Ayerst Research in 1997. His responsibilities included participation in one of the early KM projects at Wyeth, the Project Management Knowledge Base.
Neil's continued involvement with KM strategy and initiatives at Wyeth led to his current position as Principal Information Scientist in the Knowledge Management Practice Group. In this role, Neil represents the users and the content during the development of web-based applications and non-technical KM solutions. Currently Neil's chief role at Wyeth is leading Knowledge Management projects and acting as intermediary between Wyeth's IT group and the KM project customers within R&D. Neil has recently led the cross-repository search tool project, the Women's Health Research Institute Knowledge Base project, Wyeth's Taxonomy initiative and the Regulatory Affairs Learning Organization initiative.
