In 1988, Dr Scholtes initiated the European activities of ZyLAB, and in 2002 he coordinated the acquisition of certain assets of ZyLAB, Inc as well as the takeover of the North American activities. Currently, he is continuing to drive ZyLAB's development activities and global expansion initiatives, with particular emphasis on the North American market. Before founding ZyLAB Technologies BV, Dr Scholtes worked as a Naval officer for the Intelligence Department of the Royal Dutch Navy. Dr Scholtes holds a Masters degree in Computer Science from Delft University of Technology and a PhD in Computational Linguistics from the University of Amsterdam.
