Dr Brian Bartell is the Chief Technology Officer and a co-founder of Notiora, Inc. He received his PhD from UC San Diego, where he created numerous core non-metric optimisation algorithms and applied this neural network technology to text search engines. He is also the co-inventor of a patented method for displaying document search results in a taxonomy. He has held positions as Chief Technology Officer for ContentScan Inc, and Vice President of Engineering for Change.com, both companies capitalising on text analytic technology. Dr Bartell earlier held research positions in the Advanced Technology Group of Verity, Inc, a leading provider of text search engines, and in the Advanced Technology Group of Encyclopaedia Britannica, where he helped create the first Internet Encyclopedia, Britannica Online.
