Sandy Mullen has worked in the Bayer Pharma Research Centre
since 1982. Currently, he is Director of Information Acquisition
as well as being responsible for Chemistry, Patent and Business
Information Groups, Intranet Portal, with strong interests in
patent trend/competitor analyses areas. He was a contributor to
"Information Sources in Pharmaceuticals" (Butterworths,
1990) and "Information Sources in Chemistry" (Bowker-Saur,
1993). Dr Mullen is author of over 40 publications in the field
of information science as it relates to chemistry/pharmaceuticals,
and is a regular speaker at international meetings. He has been
Bayer's representative to the PDR (Pharma Documentation Ring)
since 1983 (vice president 1989-91, and president since 1992).
