Brian Gore is a chemist who worked for 13 years in the pharmaceutical industry, first in research and latterly as technical information manager. Fascination with gathering information grew from the needs of PhD research and gained practical momentum in an industry petrified in the wake of Thalidomide and galvanised, even then, by the drug discovery process.
He joined Derwent in 1975 as Online Co-ordinator and since
then his career in sales and marketing has encompassed most industries
and regions of the world. He is currently Director, Industrial
Property Organisations, for Derwent and was the first President
of PATCOM, the association of European commercial patent information
providers, set up to liaise with the EPO and other patent offices.
