Deborah Kahn
Deborah Kahn has spent 20 years working in the scientific information
and publishing industries. She currently heads DK Associates,
an independent consultancy which specialises in helping information
providers understand the needs of their users, and to design and
produce products which meet those needs. Recent work includes:
- co-authorship of a study for the British Library Policy Unit
entitled The Scale of Future Publishing in Digital and Conventional
Formats.
- creation of a strategic marketing plan for the chemical
portfolio of a major international publisher.
- an international market research study to provide a better
understanding of the corporate market for a well established
life sciences database.
- a series of workshops in a large pharmaceutical company
to define user requirements and the monitoring of user attitudes
to subsequent
developments to the in-house information systems.
- ongoing process development for the largest chemical internet
community.
Before establishing DK Associates, she worked for 10 years for
the Thomson Corporation, most recently as Product Development
Director of Derwent Information Ltd, and previously as Journals
Publisher for Chapman & Hall. She has a Masters degree in
Organisational Behaviour.
