Jonathan Goodman studied chemistry at Cambridge, graduating with a BA in 1986, and with a PhD in organic chemistry in 1990. He then worked at Columbia University, New York, with Professor Clark Still, before returning to Cambridge as a Research Fellow at Clare College. He is now a Royal Society University Research Fellow in the Department of Chemistry, and uses both computational and experimental techniques to study organic chemistry. He has published a book with the Royal Society of Chemistry, 'Chemical Applications of Molecular Modelling', which introduces experimental organic chemists to computational techniques. He has recently been involved with setting up the Unilever Centre for Molecular Sciences Informatics in the chemistry department at Cambridge.
